description Sugarloaf Ridge State Park is where the headwaters of the Sonoma Creek run through gorge and canyon, across the meadow floor beneath scenic rock outcroppings. With 2,700 acres, the park has 25 miles of trails for hiking, horseback riding and bicycle use. There is also a self-guided nature trail along Sonoma Creek that starts near the campground. Deer, bobcats and gray foxes can be seen in the park. From the 2,729-foot summit of Bald Mountain on a clear day visitors can see views of the Sierra Nevada and the golden gate bridge. The park also houses the Robert Ferguson Observatory ( RFO.org ) that can be rented, along with the Group Campground, for private parties through Reserve America . A Group Picnic area and an Amphitheater are available for private use with a reservation.

Guided Horseback Riding tours are available during the Spring,Summer and Fall. Guided rides can be made through Triple Creek Horse Outfit by calling (707)-887-8700 Amphitheater is available with a reservation. Group Picnic area available with a reservation. Group Campsite available with a reservation. This is an alcohol-free campground. Behavior due to being under the influence will not be tolerated. Generators and music are to be turned off by 8:00 PM Quiet time is strictly enforced starting at 10:00 PM. Fire Pits are provided, all fires must be fully extinguished before departing your site BBQs are provided in the picnic areas, all coals must be fully extinguished before departing site. Do not place coals in garbage or recyclable containers. Dogs are allowed in the campsites and on paved trails only Fees include entry for 1 vehicle and 1 legally towed vehicle or trailer, additional vehicles will be charged per night at the park. Although your site may hold 2 or more vehicles, your reservation only covers 1 vehicle (except for group or specialty sites). Parking in the campground is only allowed in the areas outlined with rocks. Additional parking is available in the main Day Use Parking Lot. In order for everyone to enjoy the beauty of this park, please clean up after yourself and your pets. All garbage/recyclable material is to be placed in the designated receptacles. Fallen wood is a vital part of the parks ecological system; wood collecting is NOT allowed. The Campground staff typically performs rounds through the park between the hours of 8:00 AM and 10:00 PM. The Camp Host and the Campground Manager can provide you with firewood, ice, and quarters for the showers (1 quarter per minute). Campground staff will be happy to assist you with whatever you need.
